What Is Wound Care Management?
Wound care management is the professional assessment, cleaning, dressing, and ongoing monitoring of wounds to support healing and reduce the risk of infection. This covers a broad range of wound types, including surgical wounds, pressure injuries (also known as pressure sores or bed sores), skin tears, and chronic or slow-healing wounds associated with conditions like diabetes or poor circulation.
What Happens During a Wound Care Visit?
During an in-home wound care visit, Joy will assess the wound's size, depth, and healing progress; clean and re-dress the wound using appropriate techniques and materials; monitor for early signs of infection or complications; and adjust the care plan as the wound heals or if concerns arise. Where appropriate, she will also liaise with your GP or specialist to ensure your wound care remains aligned with your broader treatment plan.
